Barbarism Over Bureaucracy

“To be a barbarian today is to draw your own perimeter and build social networks and reciprocal relationships that are not dictated or controlled by the Empire.”

~ Jack Donovan

One of the significant problems of our era is the decline of masculine virtues. Men are no longer required to be men; society affords them the right to live however they choose. Many would suggest that that’s a good thing and a sign of positive progression – a sort of “liberation” from antiquated social norms. Perhaps it is, but all good things come with a cost. With the greater part of our civilization rejecting the imposition of strong male character, duties, and expectations, we find ourselves situated within a culture of degeneracy; for it was always the strongest among us that held the fabric of society together.

That sort of conservatism is held in contempt today; for not only does it go against the philosophy of progressivism, but it “oppresses” males with a defined character. Again, perhaps it does, but let us take a look around and witness the world of supposed fairness, tolerance, and equality – is this truly preferable to what we once had?

King Leonidas, Alexander the Great, Spartacus, Julius Caesar, William Wallace – these are the names of leaders and warriors that echo throughout history. What leaders among us today can stand alongside these legends? There was once a time when a man ascended based on merit; his prowess in battle and his sense of duty and honor were the measurements of his competency to lead his people. The last king to lead troops into battle died in 1760. In our modern age, can any of us even imagine our leaders on the front lines defending our people?

Of the last two primary candidates evaluated to lead our nation, one was a pompous, fat, spray-tanned billionaire, the other, a senile, corrupt, spineless pedophile. This was the best our “progressive” civilization could muster. As liberty-minded individuals, we sometimes feel as though it doesn’t matter who warms the throne of power, but the reality is that we feel this way – a sort of disinterestedness – because we have strayed so far from meaningful leadership and leaders worth following.

“Politics becomes even more of a magnet for self-aggrandizing sociopaths and liars than it already tends to be by nature, and men with no meaningful political power or authority waste their time and energy trying to convince complete strangers to convert to their way of thinking, even when those strangers have different group identities, different religious beliefs, and completely incompatible or opposing ideas about what is good or “best in life.”

Our leaders were once chosen because they could not only lead a group of people, but also a group of warriors. They were higher than average in their qualities of wisdom, ferocity, courage, and strength. They commanded respect, not through brutal fear tactics and propaganda, but through a genuine sense of competency and hopefulness. As our societies grew, all aspects of it became more complex; this includes our ruling institutions. From this complexity, a growing demand for “expertise” rises. A legendary leader in the ancient world needed to exhibit excellence across a wide spectrum of masculine qualities. This is not the case in advanced civilizations.

Our present system of social order – the bureaucracy – is so complicated and burdensome, that the only persons capable of succeeding in that realm are those accustomed to tedious, trivial, and administrative lifestyles. Moreover, with the invention of mass-media, the entire process presents itself in the form of an elaborate stage performance. In the old world, a leader’s successes were only known through the observation of increased prosperity. Today, the eyes of the world are constantly upon our leaders; much of their energy is devoted to charades.

All of this presents significant challenges to the men that choose to honor ancient traditions. We see the path our culture is traversing, and we want nothing to do with it, and worse yet, there is no hope that our leaders are fit for the task of challenging this trend. This being the case, we become duty-bound, not to our nation or its leaders, not even to its people, but to those who share a common perspective. Now, more than ever, we must band together and lend our support to each other. The masses will refer to us as “barbarians;” as bigoted, simple, and obstacles to their utopia – so be it. We cannot survive on our own and for men like us, there is no chance of conforming to weakness, slavery, and cowardice. So I urge you now, to form alliances with like-minded peoples. Create a network of self-sustainment with persons you can trust. Let your sense of honor guide you. Never give-in to the tyranny of weak and incompetent bureaucrats. Become ungovernable; become the insurgent; become the barbarian.
